The Water and Wastewater Support Network

Aqua Nexus was founded to become a support network for water and wastewater operators. Water is our most important resource, and water and wastewater operators play a fundamental role in protecting that resource for all of our communities. Operators can face a variety of unique challenges. Together, we can help support each other in order to better treat water and protect the public. Education is the nexus, or common link, between all of us that helps us better perform our jobs, and in turn, better protect our water supply.

One of the biggest problems that operators face today is skills and knowledge training. Many public water systems across the country face an aging population of operators. As a generation retires, we lose so much valuable knowledge and experience with them. New operators can often take years to train. My goal is to help make that training as easy as possible. Knowledge is the key to preparation, and preparation is the key to protecting our water supplies.

Here are Aqua Nexus, I currently provide courses in Water Operation that cover the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements for license renewal.

About the Founder

Let's be honest, getting licensed as a Water Operator wasn't exactly a walk in the park. The resources felt scattered, and wading through technical jargon seemed unnecessary. There had to be a better way! That's the spark that ignited Aqua Nexus: creating a clear and user-friendly platform to empower water operators, just like you, to excel.

My path to clean water wasn't exactly linear. My background blends public health, education, and, of course, all things water. I've spent time working in homeless shelters, lending a hand to NGOs in Honduras providing clean water solutions, and even lighting a fire for learning in classrooms – both physical and virtual – for folks of all ages. Now, I find myself at a VA Class 2 Water Treatment Facility, putting my knowledge to work as a Class 1 Operator.

Here's what truly motivates me: knowledge, honesty, and community. I believe that by sharing our experiences and expertise, we can all rise together. Each operator's journey is unique, and those unique experiences hold immense value. Aqua Nexus is all about fostering a space where we can learn from each other, ask questions without judgment, and ultimately, become the best water operators we can be. So, welcome aboard! Let's keep that clean water flowing!
